Lifelong AIDS Alliance

Recently, we had the opportunity to work with another great organization doing outstanding work. Lifelong AIDS Alliance is a nonprofit that provides assistance to those diagnosed with HIV and AIDS. Their message is about awareness and educating people in prevention.

Our video, which was created for their annual “Caring for our Community” breakfast, illuminates Lifelong’s mission of providing care, encouraging prevention and offering hope to its many clients.

You can watch the video below:

Broadway Bound

We’re going to Broadway! Well not really, but we are currently working with an amazing organization called Broadway Bound. They have created an outreach program with city schools to get kids from Kindergarten to High School to participate in musical theater. Our video will be shown at their annual benefit luncheon on December 1. To learn more about Broadway Bound and see how you can help bring musical theater to Seattle schools, check out www.broadwaybound.org.

National Philanthropy Day 2009

Last Friday, SFW had the pleasure of attending the Association of Fundraising Professionals National Philanthropy Day event.  For the last five years, we’ve been asked to create short vignettes honoring each award recipient.  This year it was especially inspiring to see how the award winners made a difference in their community despite the state of the economy this past year.  Thanks to everyone at the AFP for putting on such a wonderful event!

Jewish Family Service

Year after year, this amazing organization is a lifeline to those in need.  From disability to addiction, JFS is there with a helping hand.  We have been honored to be involved with JFS for the last nine years, bringing individual stories to the forefront of the community.  Our video was recently shown at the Jewish Family Service Community of Caring Luncheon on May 19th and received a wonderful response.

“There was dead silence (with the exception of some sniffling) when the video was done. Literally not a dry eye in the room.”  -D. Rosenwald

“Thank you all for the wonderful, inspiring work you have once again done.  You are the best!!  -G. Pollack

“I couldn’t let the day go by without telling you that your film for JFS was simply beautiful – artistic and moving.  Your film told a story that made the needs of JFS transparent.”  -J. Forman

Washington State Mentors

Recently we got the chance to work with a fantastic organization - Washington State Mentors. They are an umbrella organization for the state’s mentoring community. During our shoot we had the pleasure to meet Lt. Governor Brad Owen, former NBA player James Donaldson and many other highly respected donors and mentors.

The participants on our shoot dedicate endless hours and effort to the youth of our community and it was inspiring to hear the stories of how much these children have gained from the mentoring experience. We just finished editing this fundraising piece and have received wonderful feedback. “Absolutely beautiful I’m reaching for my checkbook…” said Joel Benoliel, Costco Executive and WSM board member.

National Philanthropy Day

Each year the Washington Chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) hosts an inspiring event in November that attracts over 1,200 business, non-profit and community leaders to honor and celebrate seven recipients who have dedicated their time and efforts to philanthropic work.

We are extremely proud  to be teaming up with AFP to work on seven vignettes highlighting the tremendous philanthropic contributions of these recipients. This is the fourth year we have worked with AFP and it is always an honor to give back to the community by collaborating on these videos.  Getting to know these passionate and tireless people and telling their stories is an inspiration to all of us involved in the project.
